The himalaya have
been called ‘the wild heart of Asia’ revered as the abode of the
gods, the himalaya from the magic landscape which never fails to
impress the visitor, be it the lush green valleys, massive glaciers,
rugged high pastures, roaring rivers or royal snow covered peaks.
The Himalaya are the home of mountain people such as the Sherpas, as
well as the legendary snow leopards, blue sheep, yak, and - why not?
- The Yeti. A trekking in the Himalaya not only brings physical
satisfaction; it allows the visitor to journey through as ancient
culture, which is steeped in the Buddhist religion. Pumori Adventure
trekking, with than 15 years of experience in high altitude
trekking, makes it possible for you to choose from many trekking
programs, with eight different destinations in Nepal: Kathmandu
valley, Helambu, Langtang, east Nepal and west Nepal.
In the Himalaya, trekking for pleasure
is a relatively new phenomenon. It was not until 1953, when Sir
Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa scaled Mount Everest that
Nepal was put on the map as a mountaineers and trekkers destination.
Many people still do not know that trekking does not have to be
agonizingly difficult. Most treks follow old trails with good
facilities on the way. Trekking a lower altitude for an instance in
the Helambu (max. 3200m) or Langtang (max 3800m) strongly reduces
the chance of a large temperature drops or altitude sickness. Trails
are often steep, but you can walk at your own peace, enjoying the
extra comfort of good, camping chairs and toilet, a well trained
guide, as well as experienced porters. |
